WATERING PLANTS WITH ICE CUBES
Not all plants are going to take too kindly to this new watering method with ice cubes. The majority of houseplants – including desert-dwelling succulents, tropical plants, and orchids – do not come into contact with ice in their natural habitat! Ice can potentially cold-shock your plant and reduce its immunity against fungi. Remember that most houseplants prefer temperatures above 65 degrees. Additionally, ice will not provide enough water to the plant where it is needed – the roots below the soil. It is always best to water directly into your houseplant’s potting soil.
P.S. If watering your orchids with ice cubes works for you – then don’t touch the plant with ice cubes ~PlantHunter
